Welcome to the Complex Soft Materials Laboratory (CSML) led by Dr. Yufeng Wang! We are a new research group in the department of Chemistry, The University of Hong Kong.
Our research is focused on creating complex yet architecturally well-defined 3D soft materials over different length scales that are potentially useful for plasmonics, photonic, electro-optical, catalysis, energy-related, biomedical, and computer-based applications. Our projects are highly interdisciplinary. We seek innovative synthesis and functionalization schemes to fabricate exotic building blocks, from polymers to nanoparticles to colloids, which spontaneously assemble to form the desired materials in a programmable manner. We study the physics of the systems we constructed and explore their collective dynamics in real time and space. Read more...
